OKLAHOMA CITY — Following “a challenging, but successful 2021,” Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores plans to open more than 40 locations and add more than 3,000 truck parking spaces and 3,000 jobs in 2022, the retailer said in a preview of its growth plans.

In 2021, the company opened 38 new locations and added more than 3,000 truck parking spaces. In December alone, it opened nine travel stops, five in five states in one day and four in four states, also in one day.

Love’s is No. 9 in CSP’s 2021 Top 202 ranking of U.S. c-store chains by number of company-owned retail outlets.

Love’s also donated several million dollars to support its core customers, including profession truck drivers and veterans, it said.

“This year, we will continue to improve the amenities and services our customers have come to love and expect when they stop at our locations, new features will also be added that we think will wow them,” said Shane Wharton, president of Love’s. “Our customers and team members made last year a great one, and we expect the same for this year, as we continue to get customers back on the road quickly and safely.”

Additional plans for 2022 include:

Expanding the Love’s-branded product line and introducing new fresh and hot food offerings, including salad, sandwich and breakfast items made fresh daily.Continuing to enhance the Love’s Connect mobile app with new features.Adding new products to Love’s Mobile to Go Zone, the chain’s selection of electronics and technology for consumer and professional drivers.Increasing fueling options through its ownership of Trillium, a provider of alternative and renewable fuel supply, design, installation and operations.Opening more than 20 Love’s Truck Care and Speedco locations as part of the chain’s oil change and preventive maintenance network with 1,500 maintenance bays and 420 locations across the country, as well as 1,200 emergency roadside vehicles for roadside coverage for professional drivers.Oklahoma City-based Love’s is a major travel stop network with more than 580 locations in 41 states. Founded in 1964, the company remains family-owned and operated, and it provides professional truck drivers and motorists with 24-hour access to places to purchase gasoline, diesel fuel, food, coffee and more.
